My Environmental Rant a while back seems to have had some substance added to it … It seems that the MAIN database which Al Gore and his cohorts love to quote from had a software bug in it (who did the testing?!!).  It now seems that 1998 was not the hottest year on record , not even the hottest year last century, and the actual data sources used as the feed points for the data have potentially been compromised by the urban development around them.

Here’s the link to the article which describes in detail how the bug was discovered and how NASA/GISS which run the database have admitted the errors.  Interestingly this is the database that all the global warming zealots love to quote, and it seems now that although some impact by man may occur, its far more likely that natural cycles of global warming and cooling are likely to be the dominant players … There’s a surprise!
