Walked out to look at our rather messy second pond today – only to be surprised by seeing a Grass Snake in the water.  I thought they were green and small, but having checked, they can grow to 5 feet in length. This blighter is about 2.5ft to 3ft in length and is olive and white with black markings.  Got some footage I’ll put up later.  How cool is that, having a snake in yer pond. Youngest is now on ‘snake watch’ with camcorder, music player and drink by the pond!

UPDATE:  The snake just ate a frog about 3 times it’s diameter if not more!!  Awesome!
